Chris Shamess, has more than 10 years of senior human resources experience in both the private and public sectors. Chris’ most recently held a senior management position for a multinational oil and gas corporation, where he focused on talent management, resource acquisition, training, coaching and strategic planning for all of Canada. Previously, he worked with the Ministry of Health and Long-term Care, helping to organize Family Health Teams across Northern Ontario. Over his career, Chris has had the opportunity to work internationally, sharing and gaining best practices in a variety of business settings.

Paul Calic is a Human Resources Professional with over a decade of senior HR experience.  He has extensive knowledge creating and aligning learning and development strategies in both union and non-union environments.  Most recently Paul held a senior management position within a multinational oil and gas corporation where he managed a global team of diverse professionals and was responsible for the governance of a strategic corporate university.  Prior to that, Paul worked as an HR generalist within the Automotive Industry, providing HR functions including Health and Safety, Labour Relations, Recruitment, Training and Development.  Paul’s experience working with various cultures worldwide has given him a unique business perspective.

Christena Laitinen is a senior Human Resources practitioner. She offers a wealth of experience in areas such as training, development, employee / labour relations and organization development. Christena has held the lead HR role in health care, lottery & gaming and manufacturing organizations and is known for providing advice, guidance and hands-on support to leaders on critical HR matters. She is also recognized for building effective working relationships and facilitating problem solving and planning sessions designed to develop solutions that can be readily implemented and sustainable.

Lou Derrer brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing, strategic planning, business development and technology knowledge to Credence HR. Leveraging his wide range of experiences, Lou has played a lead role in the launching of several local start-ups. In his role as a business consultant/coach, Lou has helped companies and organizations to be the best they can be, strategically and operationally. Lou’s knowledge and interest in human resources stems from personal experience as a business owner and consultant.
